Home made canteen cover

I was digging around in my plunder today and unearthed a Hard plastic 2 Qt. round "Army" type canteen.

It needed a cover so I rooted around in the back of my truck and found some scraps to make one out of.My materials were kind of limited but I got 'er done in abt 1/2 an hour.

All I had to work with was a scrap of buckskin, the leg from a pair of kaki pants, some para cord, and a piece of webbing, oh! and my emergency sewing kit which consists of several yards of artificial sinew, some small scissors, an assortment of needles, and a small awl.

take a look at the pics and lemme know what you think.

thanks,

Tomahawk

  2. yes, it is a good idea to have a sewing kit on hand. I have been forced to make sewing gear on a few occasions until i wised up and started carrying a kit.
